“When I needed a little extra help, Julie went above and beyond to assist me. With her positive outlook and cheerful attitude, I’m so glad she was there!”
“After mom passed away a year ago my father was faced with living on his own for the first time in over 60 years, at almost 90 years old.
Like anyone with an elderly parent there were many concerns I had, especially living in the BC Interior with a 1 to 2 day travel time to his home in Nanaimo. These concerns ranged from his overall health needs, day to day living needs, social and mental health needs, home up-keep, maintenance, and so on.
In enlisting the help of Julie she has proven to be a valuable asset in my fathers, and thus, my life. At present we have her come by every two weeks to visit dad. He values the social time and Julie takes genuine interest in my dad’s stories and even gets his hair cut by her every few visits to keep him looking sharp.
Julie helps book and take him to his various appointments, providing me with details and any additional insights into his health situation and care needs by sitting in on each appointment at our request. It is a relief to know my dad will get to his appointments but that I will also get clear feedback on any concerns as my dad tends to downplay any worrying issues.”
“My wife lives with young-onset Alzheimer’s Disease and now resides in long-term care. Julie’s caring and thoughtful approach to each companion visit has greatly enhanced her quality of life. Julie is an amazing support to both of us and I’m very grateful to have her as part of my wife’s ‘care team’. “
“I find Julie provides me with the tasks I cannot do myself such as, errands, transportation to medical appointments. She also comes to my house and cuts my hair. I would not be able to manage without her.”
“Julie is caring, compassionate, helpful and a hard worker; she goes above and beyond to ensure my needs are met. Julie came into my life at the perfect time and her support means everything to me 😊”
“Julie Stewart has been cutting my hair for about 25 years. She does a great job, makes me feel cared for, and has become a long lasting friend. Julie is kind and professional doing what I ask her to do with odd haircuts that are fun and make me feel good about myself. If I venture down a path that may have styling consequences she gently gives me her opinion and explains why it might not work suggesting alternative ways to get the look I am trying to achieve. I love going to Julie for haircuts so much that I continued to see her even after she moved away from the community I live in to go to Nanaimo. She is worth the drive!”
“I’ve known Julie for almost 20 years and she’s quick to listen, cheerful, and a great communicator. She always seems to find innovative, safe solutions to the unique challenges life throws our way.”
“I worked with Julie at a senior’s home in the Recreation department. Although the entire team was lovely, I noticed Julie showed extra care and patience. She genuinely loved her residents and wanted to help improve their lives. She’s a positive, fun, helpful, and kind. Anyone who gets a chance to work with her is very lucky indeed!”
“I would recommend Julie to anyone looking to improve the quality of life of a loved one, through companionship. The benefits of having Julie in our mother’s life are far too many to mention. She is kind, compassionate, patient and caring and it is always such a comfort knowing that our mother is in such qualified and capable hands. Julie brings the kind of experience that is so important when engaging with those who suffer from cognitive impairment, like dementia. We feel so incredibly fortunate to have Julie and her grand dog Coco in our mother’s life. The way she engages with her clients is truly special and extraordinary. As the primary caregiver for our mother, I have come to rely on Julie’s impeccable communication and organizational skills, as well as her reliability and professionalism and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for senior’s assistance.”
